At the culmination of the 1998/1999 school year, the Pine River Area Schools saw a success rate of 88% for the enrolled students. The beginning of the 1999/2000 academic year saw those students either enrolled in E2020, returning to their home school, attending an alternative education program, or graduating and now moving on to college. Both students and parental support of the project is high with 90% of the aforementioned either - Strongly Agreed or Agreed with the statements My child/I enjoyed learning through the E2020 project and The classes provided by E2020 were as good as I (he/she) took in high school. Similar results are expected for the 2000/2001 school year. I cannot endorse E2020 strongly enough, with a further elaboration of the project’s strengths welcomed via a telephone call or direct contact.

At Manton, we have used the Computer Aided Learning Program Software curriculum not only to re-engage those students who otherwise may have fallen through the cracks, but also with school-centered learning labs to enhance our own curriculum for the greater school population

EDUCATION 2020 supports the teaching and learning process. Our instructional content is delivered online using proven best practices.

Learning Goals
The uniqueness of the EDUCATION 2020 curriculum is that it provides a full core curriculum for 6th through 12th grade in the 4 major subject areas. Algebra I, for example, is taught by an Algebra I teacher utilizing an Algebra I textbook with corresponding assignments and supplemental materials. The learning goals, therefore, are to develop an understanding of each content area within the class such as that shown below.

Chapter      Chapter Title
1                Tools of Algebra
2                Functions and Their Graphs
3                Algebraic Concepts and Simple Equations
4                Equations and Inequalities
5                Graphing and Writing Linear Equations
                  CUMULATIVE EXAM
6                Systems of Equations and Inequalities
7                Quadratic Equations and Functions
8                Exponents and Exponential Functions
9                Right Triangles and Radical Expressions
10              Polynomials
                  FINAL EXAM

Skills Development
As in any traditional class, skills, knowledge and understanding of material are building blocks upon each other as the student progresses through a course. Shown below are the content areas of Chapter 3 “Algebraic Concepts and Simple Equations”. Each lesson within the chapter teaches specific skills that must be mastered before the student can move on to the next lesson. In this fashion, the EDUCATION 2020 Virtual Classroom not only fosters skills, knowledge and understanding, but ensures it as an inherent part of the system based on student progression.

Chapter 3: Algebraic Concepts and Simple Equations
   3-1 Modeling and Solving Equations
3-2 Modeling and Solving Two-Step Equations
3-3 Combining Like Terms to Solve Equations
   3-4 Using the Distributive Property
   3-5 Rational Numbers and Equations
   3-6 Using Probability
   3-7 Percent Equations
   Chapter Test
 Chapter 4: Equations and Inequalities

Scope, Sequence, and Course Length
Each course covers approximately twice as much content as compared to a traditional classroom providing tremendous breadth and depth to the material. EDUCATION 2020 courses cover nearly all material covered in a standard classroom textbook in addition to teacher personalized instruction. The duration of a course is approximately 70 to 110 hours to complete a full credit course with ensured competency as the student progresses since the student cannot progress unless competency is achieved.
